The Lady

I wonder what she thought as she stood there, strong and tall.
She couldn't turn away, she was forced to watch it all.

Did she long to offer comfort as her country bled?
With her arm forever frozen high above her head.
She could not shield her eyes, she could not hide her face

She just stared across the water, keeping Freedom's place.
The smell of smoke and terror somehow reduced her size
So small within the harbor, but still we recognized...
How dignified and beautiful on a day so many died
I wonder what she thought, and I know she must have cried

Hi, all!

This month Tyrone and I wanted to show our patriotic side! The above picture was from a photo of me as a Girl Scout in my youth. Our family has always been involved in serving our community and country. I thought we would highlight a few, and the interesting jobs that spanned the globe in our military forces for Veterans Day. I am so proud of our long history of military service.

Don't miss the below picture which shows my Mother, Nita, who was Boy Scout, Girl Scout, Brownie and 4-H leader and Girl Guide in her lifetime. The picture shows my brother Mike as a Boy Scout, my brother Chris as a Cub Scout, me as a Girl Scout (really proud of those badges!!!) and my sister Betty as a Brownie Girl Scout. Even Tyrone steps in and does his part.( I think he might be down on record as the first male Brownie member).

For all of you who tuned into the telethon to see me, thank you for your donations. I WAS there, at least my voice was, but as it was an unplugged version, another choir was substituted. You might have noticed that there were no microphones and although you heard an orchestra, you only saw a piano. That's Hollywood, folks.

To all of you who served for our country, loyally and with our freedom in mind, our heartfelt thanks go out to you. To all of you currently serving and keeping our freedom safe, our hearts and prayers are with you.

Love,

Rose & Tyrone
